It is Saturday afternoon and I'm sitting here scrapping with my DD while watching the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest Final on the PC. This is the first time in over 20 years that I'm watching it.. Not much have changed, some great songs and lots of ehhh lets call them "different" songs

Tomorrow is May 17th, the Norwegian liberation day and the biggest PARTY day in Norway.

In Norway this is a day for the children, they walk in their school parade, dressed in Bunad or other pretty clothes, waiving their Norwegian flags calling out Hipp Hipp Hurra Hurra Hurra, and singing the national anthem "Ja vi elsker" Usually they get to drink as much soda and eat as much ice cream and and hot dogs as the can put away. There also is games and more fun. Every city, town and village in Norway are celebrating.

We are celebrating in Davie at the new Seaman's church center. There will be parade, games hot dogs and lapskaus..Cakes and coffee, solo and ice cream. Lots of fun for every age. There will also be chuch service speaches and a greeting from the Norwegian king.

Afterward we're BBQ'ing at a friends house and the kids will swim in the pool and eat more ice cream =)

So to Norway and all Norwegians in Norway or any where else in the world
